Tickets

Weekend tickets are sold in tiers: the earlier you buy, the less you pay, and the price steps up as each tier sells out. Early-bird tickets are paid in full, the reward for buying early. There's a hard cap on how many are sold online. Walk-in gate tickets cost more and are outside that cap.

Tickets are non-refundable, but they're transferable to a friend with organizer approval (resale is not allowed). You can start a transfer from your wallet once you're signed in.

Where you'll stay

You can add a whole room at the historic ranch (hacienda rooms with a queen or two twins, and larger king, suite and group rooms, each taking up to five for the three nights: its beds, plus floor space for sleeping bags) or a camping spot under the stars. Tickets and lodging are booked separately. See all nineteen rooms and where they sit on the ranch.

Everyone still needs a weekend ticket: a room or campsite is where you sleep, and the ticket is how you get in.

Splitting a room & paying over time

Book together, pay separately. Split a room up to five ways so nobody has to front it. Book the room, add up to four friends (a name and an email each), and everyone gets their own link to pay their own share. Each person can add their own ticket, issued in their name. The room is held while they pay their deposits, and it's yours once everyone has. If someone can't make it, whoever booked can swap someone else in or cover that share.

Pay over time. Rooms, camping and tickets can go on a payment plan: a small deposit today, then weekly or monthly payments on your card, all done a month before the retreat. Each payment is charged on its date, with an email a few days before. A plan costs a little more than paying in full (a payment plan fee covers the extra card charges) and you see every date, the fee and the total before you pay. Start early and each payment is smaller.

Early-bird tickets are paid in full. Plans close a few weeks before the retreat; the date is on the booking page. Deposits are non-refundable.

Refunds & changes

• Accommodation is refundable until the cutoff shown at checkout before the retreat, less Stripe's fee. After that it's final.
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• Tickets are non-refundable but transferable (see above).

Registration & entry

Buying a ticket holds your spot; to actually be admitted, every attendee registers once: create an account, fill in your details, sign the waiver, and confirm you're 21 or older. You'll get reminders, and unregistered tickets are released on day two of the event.

At the gate you show the QR from your wallet or your confirmation email — it scans even with no signal.

Drugs, weapons and the house rules

Drugs aren't allowed at Cábala or anywhere on the ranch. Neither are weapons. The Terms prohibit both, and anyone with them is removed without a refund.

The same goes for illegal activity and for being too drunk to look after yourself or the people around you. The bar and the cantina are open; look after yourself and each other.

If you only have a ticket

A ticket gets you in; it isn't a place to sleep. Anyone staying on the ranch overnight needs a room or a camping spot. If you hold only a ticket and are still on the property after the evening curfew set out in the Terms, the Terms authorize us to charge a full weekend camping pass to the card you paid with — so if there's any chance you'll stay, book camping ahead and save yourself the conversation. One-night camping can only be bought in advance.

The ranch is remote — plan for it

This is real high desert, and part of the point. It also means you look after yourself more than you would in town:

• Cell service and internet are limited. Download your tickets, directions and anything else you need before you leave Tucson. Your QR scans without signal.
• The nearest hospital is a long way off and emergency response can be slow. Bring every medication and piece of equipment you depend on, and enough of it.
• Heat and dehydration are the real risks. Days are hot, nights are cold, and alcohol makes both worse. Drink water constantly.
• The pool has no lifeguard.
• Horses and cattle live here. They are large and unpredictable — give them room, even if you don't plan to ride.
• Food is sold on site by independent vendors. If you have an allergy, tell the vendor yourself.
• Everyone is 21 or older — no exceptions, and you confirm it when you register.

Getting there

Cábala is held at Rancho de la Osa Guest Ranch in Sasabe, Arizona — remote high-desert, about an hour and a half southwest of Tucson near the border. Come with a full tank, layers for cool desert nights, and anything you need for a few days off the grid. Detailed directions and a what-to-bring list go out in your pre-arrival email.
